A short exploration of how I went from being almost paralysed by fear of going to the dentist to thinking I may even miss my fortnightly visits to receive the expert help of Dr Richard Prais. I have a sneaking suspicion though that cleaning my teeth may be akin to painting the Forth Bridge - the moment you finish one side its time to start at the other! I am now a model patient and heading for a Gold Star in tooth brushing and flossing - it really is worth investigating. You can find out more about Dr Richard Prais at www.praisdental.com

the other day i met someone from england who said that most dentists in the west said you must have your teeth cleaned regularly by a doc. this is strange because most of our chaps here ie India say you shouldnt as the enamel gets worn off and exposes the teeth to faster decay. Some of the traditional doctors say it's better to use neem or meswak to clean your teeth rather than go for those high speed cleaners.. frankly i've had it done once, i really thought they were going through my brain.

Hey Madhavi - it would be great to know what 'soft' products are available. We can develop this 'east versus west' best tooth practice discussion!
