I came across a man sat on a train with a lemon tree on the table in front of him. The tree had one fully grown lemon on its branches and as the train made its way to London, I began to worry about the safety of its lemon and if it would make it home. The stalk was sturdy though. And the man definitely seemed confident that they would get there in one piece...

Dean Parkin, 40
I'm a poet based in Suffolk, England. A cross between Dean Martin and Philip Larkin, I used to be older than I looked but I'm now catching up fast.

Wonderful!
Brilliant production quality Dean combined with beautiful story telling, in your unique, extraordinary way. I'm sure many a listener will have a ball listening to this - citric scrotum - love it!!!
I'm going to play it on my radio show next week - http://www.phonic.fm/2009/02/19/new-exeter/

Dean
I love it so much, I've created a regular feature on my radio show (http://www.phonic.fm/2009/02/19/new-exeter/) called 'piece of Parkin?'
Lemons was a big hit this morning; thinking Balloon Landings next week...

Carl - thanks for this - flattered and delighted about 'piece of parkin'. Hopefully people won't think it's anything to do with Ginger Parkin, apparently a yucky cake from the north and no relation. But thanks for the comments and encouragement!
